Artist Profile
Cecile Pauly
Artist Statement
Short bursts of concentration by necessity are my usual method of work. I love colour, tone, texture, contrast in its many forms, and Movement. Particular interests include environment, health, and gender.
I was able to examine my major interest in female perspectives through my art in 1980’s, especially at Newcastle CAE, where I ‘majored’ in the Sculpture department because it did at that time allow me to pursue a mixed media perspective—painting, drawing, performance, installations, books—great variety and done quickly and often with colleagues.
My artwork is the most personally entertaining, meditational, fulfilling, central and thus far, continuous point in my life.
