Artist Statement

Painting is a journey. It starts somewhere near reality and is transformed into something else. Along the road, one becomes engaged in the exploration of colour, light, shape and of the ways in which and an image is internalised by an individual’s struggle.

“I don’t think people are born artists; I think it comes from a mixture of your surroundings, the people you meet and luck.” Francis Bacon

“I tell you, the more I think, and the more I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.” Van Gogh
